Here at FiddleFly new additions are just about standard weekly practice, and this week is no different. We like to think that every day we don’t get better, we get a little worse, so we tend to work our tails off to make sure that never happens. Our main initiative in building our product is always coming up with innovative new functionality and tools that make the mobile web building process more efficient and flexible. This week we will be introducing a few new capabilities that are aimed at doing just that. Read about them below and keep an eye out for them in our editor this week!
Disable AJAX Functionality
In the “Project Settings” section of our platform, you will now be able to turn off the built-in AJAX functionality. The AJAX function lets you load new pages with asynchronized script loading making your pages load quicker. Some web developers prefer to customize the way pages load however by adding things like custom animations or individual element loading. For those developers, we have now made it easy to turn off the standard AJAX and insert any custom code for transitions and loading patterns of your choice.
Disable Top Navigation Bar
FiddleFly sites come with a standard top nav that leads users either back to the previous page or to the home page of the site with one tap. If you prefer to customize the top navigation, or do away with it altogether, now you can do so easily. Simply head again to the “Project Settings” section and click to turn off the top nav. You can then insert custom navigation by linking pages to images (as is explained in the “Custom Icon Navigation” tutorial video) or by inserting custom code.
Custom Feed Selections
After you drop in your streaming feeds, you may decide you want to show more or less items in the feed on your sites. Now that is no problem as we have included a section in the Content Editor that allows you to choose the number of items you would like displayed in any feed.
We have been talking about it for a while now, and the brand new Location Finder is finally here. We have made the process of finding business branches through mobile incredibly simple, as our new Location Finder links directly into the Google API. Check it our and see just how easy it is to build a network of locations through your mobile site.
These new additions are of course just the latest few, and some huge new additions are brewing all the while. Take a look at all these cool new toys by logging into your account, and keep checking in with FiddleFly to get a jump on the next wave of incredible ideas made mobile.
